About Remote Disk Backup
Offsite backup you can actually restore from
Who it’s for
Remote Disk Backup is for small businesses whose files, email and records would be hard or impossible to recreate. Many already have some form of backup, perhaps an external drive or a file sync service, but are not sure it would hold up after a hardware failure, a mistake or a ransomware attack.
How it works
We begin by listing what data the business has and where it lives. From there we design a backup arrangement that follows the 3-2-1 rule, keeps enough version history to recover from problems noticed late, and stores at least one copy where an attacker on your network cannot reach it. Then we test it, write down how to restore, and keep testing on a schedule.
What we believe
- A backup that has never been restored is an assumption, not a safeguard.
- File sync is useful, but it is not the same thing as backup.
- Simple, well-documented arrangements are easier to trust than clever ones.
- Calm planning now beats rushed decisions during an outage.
